Chelsea confident Kai Havertz will return against Rennes

Chelsea are confident that midfielder Kai Havertz will be in action when they take on Rennes on Tuesday night after he returned from a long layoff due to his positive covid-19 statues.

 Havertz  last featured for coach Frank Lampard side on October 31st in their 3-0 win against Burnley in the premier league.

The German international has missed Chelsea’s last three games in all competitions and Germany UEFA Nations league fixture, after he was forced to self- Isolate as experiencing some symptoms, while the rest of the squad re-tested as a precaution.

However, the 21- year- old returned to training for the blues having tested negative and coach Frank Lampard is hopeful to see him in action.

“I hope he is available. He’s been in for a few days now doing some individual work and he’s looked pretty good,” Lampard is quoted as saying by Chelsea’s official website.

“Kai is a naturally fit boy so I hope to have him traveling with us to Rennes and maybe he’ll get some minutes. I’m not sure exactly how many because it was two-week isolation but he looks in good shape.”

Chelsea  are on a five-game winning streak in all competitions and have scored seven goals in the championship league without conceding any.

This has been attributed to the presence of their new summer signing Thiago Silva and goalkeeper Eduardo Mendy, who both were nominated for the premier league player for October.

Havertz has been an impressive season for Chelsea so far scoring four goals and three assists in 10 appearances for the London club.
