Chelsea are ready to offer £80m bid for Jadon Sancho

Chelsea Fc are reportedly weighing up the option of tabling a bid worth £80 million for Jadon Sancho – also a target for Manchester United.

According to reports by The Sun, Chelsea are keen to take the first step to secure the services of Jadon Sancho in the summer transfer window.

Hence the blues are ready to launch an £80 million offer for the Borussia Dortmund winger who is also a target for Manchester United.

Jadon Sancho has gone on to become one of the most prized assets in the game since joining Borussia Dortmund from Manchester City in the summer of 2017.

A road less taken has proven to be a bold move worth making, with the 21-year-old now being an important and crucial figure for the Bundesliga giants.

The ongoing season started a little slowly for the Englishman following a failed move to Manchester United last summer.

Sancho, though, has gone on to display his usual exceptional abilities as the campaign has gone on and returns of 16 goals and 21 assists in 37 appearances across all competitions are nothing short of impressive.

His continued progress has, in turn, attracted Chelsea and Manchester United among others.

Chelsea bolstered their attacking unit last summer by signing the likes of Kai Havertz, Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech, but none of the three players have managed to set the stage alight. While Havertz and Werner have lately shown signs of starting to settle down at the club.

So, unless the Blues look to part with any of their forwards – apart from Tammy Abraham and Olivier Giroud – it is hard to see how Sancho would fit in Thomas Tuchel’s squad. Chelsea, though, seem to be pressing ahead with their intention to sign the 21-year-old, with an £80 million bid in the works. However, Manchester United might have something to say about that.

As iterated already, Manchester United hold a long-standing interest in Sancho; and despite having failed to land him last summer, the Red Devils still seem to be prioritising a move for the English forward, with reports even suggesting that they are prepared to use Jesse Lingard as part to makeweight in the deal to sign the youngster.
