Confederation of African Football (CAF) have announced a new calendar for the 2021 AFCON and the 2022 world cup qualification matches, which were previously canceled due to the COVID 19 pandemic.

African teams are to have a busy schedule of continental football in 2021, with the international qualification games starting from November 2020 to November 2021.

CAF released a statement indicating the AFCON qualifiers to resume in November, initially slated for March 2020 with the world cup qualifiers to begin May 2021.

Countries are expected to play round 3 and 4 games from November 7-19 while the final two matches to start from March 22-30 in 2021.

The African cup of Nations to be hosted by Cameroon was to start 30th June 2021 but was postponed to January 2022 and ends in February a year later from the initial agreed date after COVID-19 pandemics destabilize the football calendar.
