Brighton set £40m price tag for Arsenal and Liverpool target Yves Bissouma

Brighton has reportedlyb told Arsenal and Liverpool that an offer of around £40 million will be needed to sign midfielder Yves Bissouma this summer.

Bissouma, 24, has enjoyed an impressive campaign with the Seagulls, which has caught the attention of both Mikel Arteta and Jurgen Klopp.

The Mali international joined Brighton in 2018 and has improved year after year on the South Coast, with Graham Potter helping take Bissouma’s game to the next level this season.

The Seagulls are keen to keep Bissouma and have done their best to persuade him to stay by telling the midfielder that his rapid development would be better served with another year at the club.

Although Brighton are realistic about his chances of staying with them beyond this season, particularly in the face of great interest from the top six.

But According to the Sun the Seagulls are willing to accept a fee of around £40m for the talented midfielder.

Liverpool have yet to tie Gini Wijnaldum to a new deal and Jurgen Klopp has identified Bissouma as a replacement should the Dutchman choose to join Barcelona on a free transfer.

Arteta wants a dynamic defensive midfielder who gives Thomas Partey more creative freedom in the next term, while Real Madrid Loanee Dani Ceballos’ is not expected to extend his stay with the gunners.

With Brighton resigned to losing their star man, the hope is that a bidding war could be triggered between Liverpool and Arsenal for a higher rate.
