Timo Werner endured an inconsistent first season at the club after joining from RB Leipzig last year, failing to live up to expectations under both Thomas Tuchel and Frank Lampard over the course of the campaign.

The 25 year old netted on 12 occasions from 52 appearances across all competitions for Chelsea, incomparable performance in respect his 34-goal haul during his final campaign with Leipzig.

Timo often appeared to show a lack of confidence in front of goal, with Thomas often deploying Kai Havertz in the number nine role as a result of Werner’s struggles.

Although he did chip in with 14 assists for Chelsea, his season was largely characterised by a host of high-profile misses of goals in important matches.
