Borussia Dortmund Jadon Sancho has been told to check his attitude by Emre Can if he hopes to join the best in the football world.
Sancho is seen as one of the game’s finest youngsters to have emerged and his performance in the BVB colours says it all.
The 20-year-old netted a hattrick in Dortmund 6-1 trashing of bottom-placed Paderborn, he has been linked with a move to top European clubs including Manchester United and Chelsea due to his exceptional performance.
However, Sancho and Dortmund teammate Manuel Akanji were fined after a German press released a picture of the dual disobeying social distancing rule while having haircuts.
The England International later went on social media calling the fine “an absolute joke”
Former Liverpool midfielder Emre Can who netted Dortmund only goal in the 1-0 win in Saturday encounter against Herta Berlin has advised the youngster to be “Smarter”
“Jadon needs a little guidance,” Can told Sky in Germany following Dortmund’s 1-0 win over Hertha Berlin on Saturday. “He’s a great boy, also off the pitch. It’s true that I get along very well with him.
“He just has to be a little bit smarter about these things. Everyone needs a hairdresser. He needs to grow up. He can’t afford to make mistakes like that in the future.
Can has also dismissed rumours that BVB is worried by the event that seems to have overshadowed their Saturday win.
“We as a team are also responsible. We are not annoyed by him. We know that he has to be more disciplined in some things. But he knows that too.
“I don’t think he does this on purpose to create a scandal. Maybe he doesn’t realise it, maybe he trusts too many people in some things.
