Barcelona to sell Camp Nou Naming Rights

Barcelona are set to sell Camp Nou Stadium naming in 2021/21 for one year in an effort to raise funds to fight the coronavirus pandemic.

Fc Barcelona has announced on Tuesday, that the stadium right will be handed over to the club foundation to sell the title right to a sponsor.

The funds raised from the sales will be used to finance research projects on the COVID-19.

A statement released by Jordi Cardoner, Barcelona first Vice President “We are very happy to be able to drive forward this initiative that offers something as emblematic as the name of our stadium, so that institutions, organisations, businesses who wise may associate themselves with it and as such, contribute to the fight against COVID-19, given that their investment will be used to finance research projects on the illness and projects that are working to eradicate or lessen its effects.

Cardoner emphasised the need for commitment in harnessing all available resources in the fight against the deadly virus.

Right now, we can quantify the effects of this health crisis but what we do know is that it will require all our resources to defeat it.” He added.

The 63-year-old stadium will maintain the name Camp Nou while bearing the sponsor’s name at the same time.

A general assembly of the club will decide on the approval of the new Sponsor.
