Spanish giants, Barcelona have dismissed the news of their Superstar player Lionel Messi departing the club by the end of the season.
Barcelona President, Josep Maria Bartomeu has dismissed the rumours of their captain Lionel Messi leaving the club anytime soon.
The 33-year-old has spent his entire professional career with Barca and has a deal till the end of June 2021.
There have been reports of Messi departing the Nou Camp by the end of the season due to his displeasure with the board of directors of Barcelona.
Speaking after a 4-1 victory over Villarreal on Sunday, Bartomeu told Movistar: “I’m not going to give details of the negotiations, but he has said many times that he wants to finish his career at Barcelona.
“Right now, we are focused on the competition, and there are negotiations with lots of players. Messi wants to continue at Barca, and he wants to end (his career) here. He has many years left, and we’re going to enjoy him for a long time.”
Barcelona are now 4 points behind table-toppers Real Madrid with 4 games left to conclude the 2019/20 la Liga season.
