Arteta sends warning message to Aubameyang ahead of Arsenal vs Olympiacos second leg

Arsenal boss, Mikel Arteta, has said the internal problem with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been “resolved”, but he also warned that the forward must earn his place back in his team.

Aubameyang was benched in Sunday’s north London derby with Tottenham Hotspur, after violating pre-match protocols.
The Gunners got a 2-1 win in his absence.


Ahead of Thursday’s Europa League game at home to Olympiakos, Arteta has revealed that Aubameyang will face no further Sanctions.


When asked if he had closed the matter with his captain behind the scenes, Arteta said in his press conference: Yes. We talked, everything has been resolved in a really positive way. So we move forward.”

Pressed on whether the Gabon international will return straight to his team, the Spaniard answered “No, everybody has to obviously perform at the highest level to earn his place in the team and there are no exceptions there. We will try to put out a really competitive team to try and win the game.”

Arsenal will head into Thursday clash against the Greece side having won the first leg 3-1 and will hope to continue in the same manner.
