Arsenal have reportedly offered David Luiz contract extension for another year, his current deal is set to expire by the end of the month.
Arsenal are said to have reportedly offered defender David Luiz a one-year contract extension, his current deal is to terminate by the end of June.
The 33-year-old joined Arsenal in August last year from rivals Chelsea for a fee of €8.70 million euros.
Luiz was heavily linked with a return to his former club Benfica after it was reported that the Gunners were yet to renew his current contract.
However, Benfica President, Luiz Felipe Vieira insisted that the club can not afford to pay the defender £120,000-a-week-salary which he currently earns at the Emirates.
Mikel Arteta is keen on keeping the former Chelsea man, this means that Arsenal could offer Luiz a deal based on appearances and incentives, according to The Mirror.
The Brazilian and the club are said to have reached an agreement, as the former Chelsea man looks to extend his stay at the Emirates.
