Arsenal threatens to block Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from future International duty

AArsenal are furious with how their striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was treated on international duty with the Gabonese national team suggesting that he may be prevented from future call-ups.

 Aubameyang had uploaded a series of images on his Instagram stories during the weekend of him and the rest of the Gabon team having to sleep on the floor of Gambia Banjul international airport after they were stopped from entering the country.

Gabon had traveled  were scheduled to take on the Gambian in the Nation Cup qualifier return leg and were delayed for 6 hours after arriving at the airport, before being allowed into the country.

 Arsenal  have expressed their displeasure with the treatment of their star player and threatened to stop him from future

Speaking to Canal Plus, the Gabon manager revealed: “Arsenal called Pierre-Emerick. After seeing him in those conditions, it’s over.

“They won’t let him come again, and it will be the same for players from other clubs.

“It’s understandable. They are high level players and when they come on international duty, they need to have a minimum of comfort.”

He added more to L’Echo Republicain, continuing: ‘All the players tried to sleep on the airport floor. Imagine if Aubameyang, a player who costs more than €1m per month, gets injured.

“The English club can be annoyed after what’s happened. To make a player sleep the floor.”

According to reports, the delay was as a result of  Gambia’s authority waiting to confirm the Covid-19 status of the Gabonese players and officials.

Gabon ended up losing the game 1-0 after being forced to play few hours after their arrival.
