Arsenal Martin Odegaard secretly reveals future plans to Friends

Martin Odegaard

Arsenal loanee Martin Odegaard has privately told friends that he wants to stay at Arsenal next season.

The current loan contract of the Real Madrid star expires at the end of the 2020/21 campaign.

But he has made it clear to his friends that he wants to extend his stay at the Emirates, according to Football London.

There is no option to buy once his loan deal finishes, but Real Madrid is believed to be open to selling him at the end of the season.

However, given Arsenal’s financial situation and concerns that they may not play European football next season, a new loan deal may be preferable for the Gunners.

The 22-year-old has been impressed by Mikel Arteta and has faith in his project at Arsenal.

Arteta, similarly, is a fan of the Norway captain and would love to sign him permanently.

The club announced a loss of £47.8 million for the 2019/20 fiscal year and may not be able to pay a large fee for the midfielder.

While Odegaard wishes to stay in North London, he will not force a move if there is no suitable offer on the table from Arsenal bosses.

Odegaard has been in good form this month and scored crucial goals in victories over Olympiacos and Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League and Premier League respectively.
