Anthony Martial sets new records in Manchester United Victory

 

Manchester United news: Manchester United vs Sheffield 3-0. It was all about the record-breaking Anthony Martial who put up a man of the match performance.

Anthony Martial produced an astonishing performance as Manchester United cruised to a 3-0 victory over Sheffield United on Wednesday night.

The 24-year-old helped United to move within 2 points behind Chelsea after a convincing 3-0 win over Sheffield United at Old Trafford.

United had played a 1-1 dead the last time outΒ  Tottenham hotspurs, even though they were denied a late penalty by the VAR.

Anthony Martial gave ole Gunnar Solakjaer’s side an early lead by slotting the ball into the back of the visitors net in the seventh minute of play from a Rashford cross.

Just before the half time, United doubled their lead once again Martial was on hand to finish a right flanked cross from Aaron Wan-Bissaka making it 2-0.

In the 74th minute, Anthony Martial got his first hat-trick for United, cooling lifting the ball past Sheffield goalkeeper Simon Moore, following a fine combination from Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes who started together for the first time for Manchester United.

Anthony Martial scored his first United hat trick and also became the first United player to score three goals in a single match since Sir, Alex Ferguson retired in 2013. The last player to net a hat trick was Dutchman Robin van Persie in a 3-0 Victory over Aston Villa April 2013 to help united grab the Premier League title.

In the final ten minutes of the match, Solskjaer made all five substitutes that included Odion Ighalo, who had a chance to increase united tally but was denied by the Blades goalkeeper.

This win means ole Gunnar the Red Devils are unbeaten in 13 games in competitions netting 33 goals and conceding just three in the process. It moves them to within 2 points behind fourth-placed Chelsea who will face Manchester City on Thursday.
