The Former Ngerian International Osaze Odemwingie has revealed his compatriot Victor Osimhen should have been in the English Premier League but is convinced he will do well in the Serie A.

Former Super Eagles winger Peter Osaze Odemwingie has revealed in an interview with Brilla FM, that Victor Osimhen should have been playing in the premier league.

Osimhen was a target for several clubs across Europe, with Liverpool, Chelsea, and Manchester United reported to be interested in his services at some point.

SerieA giant Napoli finally secured the services of the 21-year-old from league one side Lille.

When you see the numbers, they are talking about Osimhen, the goals he scored last season in France for Lille, then he should be a Premier League player,” Odemwingie told Brila FM, as per Complete Sports.

“Maybe there was no offer from the Premier League because mid-table teams in England can’t afford him.”

The former West Brom forward believes Osimhen being a top striker will succeed in the SerieA

He can do well in the Serie A too because he is one of the top strikers in Europe at the moment,” the former West Brom attacker added.

“His move to Napoli is good too. They have a great history because Diego Maradona played there. They have also been consistent in recent times, and they have a solid team.

Victor Osimhen has been featured in two league games for Napoli against Parma and Genoa, having received accolades for his performance.

Napoli will face Serie A champions Juventus on Sunday 4th October and the former Lille man will look forward to finding the back of the net.
