Transfer news: Leroy Sane has completed his £54.8m transfer from Manchester City to Bayern Munich

Bayern transfer news: Leroy Sane has sealed a £54.8m move to Bundesliga Champions Bayern Munich after an agreement was reached between both parties.

Leroy Sane has been continuously linked with a move to Bayern over the years with Manchester City failing to negotiate a new contract in almost two years.

Sane passed the second part of his medicals before returning to Bayern’s training ground on Thursday morning according to Sky Sports.

The 24-year-old signed a five-year contract with Bayern after spending four seasons at the Etihad.

Bayern Munich will pay an initial fee of £44.7 m with performance and trophy related add-ons, with City expected to earn 10 per cent in the sell of the German International in the future.

He has told Bayern’s official website: “FC Bayern is a great club with big goals – and these goals suit me as well. I’m looking forward to the new challenge and can’t wait to train with the team.

“I know Hansi Flick from the U21 national team; we had a perfect relationship there. I want to win as many trophies as possible with FC Bayern, and the Champions League is the top priority.”

Bayern’s CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said on acquiring the services of a top delighted re very happy to welcome Leroy Sane to FC Bayern.

“He is an outstanding player who has proven his qualities over the past few years, especially in the national team.

“Our goal is to gather the best German players, at FC Bayern and the signing of Leroy emphasises this goal. I would like to congratulate Hasan Salihamidzic on successfully concluding the transfer.”

The German International joined Manchester City from Schalke for £37 m in 2016. He has missed the majority of the season due to torn anterior cruciate ligament injury.

Sane netted 39 goals for City and won two Premier League titles, two Carabao Cups, one FA Cup and two Community Shields.
