Lille Victor Osimhen clinches another award

Super Eagles and Lile Victor Osimhen has won the Marc- Vivien Foe award for the best African player in League 1.

Lille striker Victor Osimhen has been named as the winner of the 2020 Marc-Vivien Foe prize ahead of other stars.

Osimhen joins Vincent Enyeama who won the award in 2014 as the only second Nigerian to win the award given in honour of late Cameroon star Marc-Vivien FoΓ© for exceptional display of talent.


The previous winners includes Gervinho (Ivory Coast) ,Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Gabon) Β Nicolas PΓ©pΓ© (Ivory Coast) who won it in 2019.

The Nigerian international had only joined Lille in August 2019 from RSC Charleroi for a reported fee of €12million euros.

He finished fourth on the top scorer chatof the French league with 13 goals and 4 assists in 27 games before the suspension of league 1.

Osimhen was chosen by jury of sport journalists ahead of Algerian forward Islam Slimani (Monaco) and the Moroccan defender Yunis Abdelhamid (Stade Rennais).

The 21-year-old was nominated in League1 Team of the Season alongside Neymar and MbappeΒ  and also was named Lille player of the year for the 2019/20 season.
