Super Eagle defender Leo Balogun has joined Wigan on a permanent short deal as from Brighton.
Premier League side Brighton hove and Albion, have announced the departure of defender Leo Balogun to Wigan Athletic on a permanent short transfer.
The 31- year-old, struggled for playing time and found it difficult to break into the Seagull’s team, making only 12 appearances in two seasons and was sent on loan to Championship side Wigan.
Balogun joined Wigan on loan in January transfer window and has played six games for the Latics.
“Leon has always been extremely professional and good to work with during my time at the club, but he was finding it hard to get the game time he would have liked,” Brighton boss Graham Potter told the club’s official website.
“So the loan move to Wigan seemed to be a good move for everyone involved, and he has made a really positive impact there.
“We would like to thank him for his contribution over the last couple of years and we wish him all the best for the next chapter of his career.”
